Leadership style is a central component of nursing management because it directly influences service quality and staff productivity. The head nurse therefore plays an important role in shaping nurses' performance in patient care. This study aimed to examine the relationship between head nurses' leadership styles and nurses' performance in the inpatient units of Nahdlatul Ulama Hospital, Jombang. An analytic correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. A total of 47 respondents were selected from a population of 53 using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a leadership-style questionnaire and a nurse performance assessment form and analyzed using the Chi-square test at a significance level of 0.05. The findings showed that the majority of head nurses applied a democratic leadership style (66.0%), while almost all nurses demonstrated fairly good performance (89.4%). The statistical analysis yielded a value of rho = 0.000 (rho < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant and strong relationship between head nurses' leadership styles and nurses' performance. A leadership approach that is appropriately aligned with staff characteristics can positively influence nurses' performance in delivering patient care. Accordingly, the leadership style adopted by head nurses is an important determinant of improved nurse performance.
Moh. Choirul Anam Ahmad Nur Khoiri Copyright (c) 2026 Moh. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and the attendance of the elderly at Posyandu in Puton Village, Diwek District, Jombang Regency. Using a correlational analytical research design with a retrospektif approach, the study involved a population of 121 respondents, from which a sample of 93 respondents was selected via a simple random sampling technique. The findings revealed that almost all (96.8%) of the elderly received family support and actively attended Posyandu visits, whereas a small percentage (3.2%) remained active despite receiving unsupportive family care. Statistical analysis using the alternative Fisher’s exact test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), thereby accepting H1 and confirming a significant relationship between family support and elderly Posyandu attendance. In conclusion, while family support plays a critical role in encouraging attendance, low attendance and a lack of support are not necessarily adverse outcomes, but may instead reflect a shifting phenomenon driven by a trend of better health status among elderly individuals who are highly educated, employed, and earn equal to or greater than the Regional Minimum Wage (UMK).
Tri Widiasari Fitri Firranda Nurmalisyah Copyright (c) 2026 Tri Widiasari, Fitri Firranda Nurmalisyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-05-29 2026-05-29 2 1 16 24 10.33023/jcnsp.v2i1.3236 The relationship between smartphone use and adolescent sleep quality at Mojoagung state Senior High School https://journal.stikespemkabjombang.ac.id/index.php/jcnsp/article/view/3239
A factor substantially influencing the stability of Muslim faith is the rapid development of digital technology, which has led to an increase in smartphone use among young people. Analyzing the relationship between smartphone use and sleep quality is the primary objective of this study. This study was conducted at Mojoagung State Senior High School, which has high academic standards. Methods: This study used a cross- sectional design for its analysis. The study population was 315 adults from Mojoagung State Senior High School, with 76 respondents randomly selected using a sampling technique. The SASSV questionnaire was used to collect smartphone usage data. Sleep quality was assessed using the PSQI. The results and analysis showed that the majority of respondents (57.9%) were high-income smartphone users, and the majority (71.1%) reported poor sleep quality. With a correlation coefficient of 0.360, the Spearman's Rho test yielded a significance value of p=0.001. This indicates a relationship between smartphone use and sleep quality. Women's sleep quality is negatively affected by their increasing dependence on smartphones. Discussion: This study recommends specific smartphone usage strategies, including white noise masking and at least 60 minutes of social media use before bedtime, to prevent eyestrain. Furthermore, collaboration between schools and parents is essential to facilitate high-quality programs for students to address attention deficits and optimize academic performance.
Ayu Rahmadiani Nur Oktavia Supriliyah Praningsih Copyright (c) 2026 Ayu Rahmadiani Nur Oktavia, Supriliyah Praningsih https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-05-29 2026-05-29 2 1 25 33 10.33023/jcnsp.v2i1.3239 The correlation between knowledge level and adherence to antihypertensive medication consumption in hypertensive patients at Prolanis Sumobito Community Health Center https://journal.stikespemkabjombang.ac.id/index.php/jcnsp/article/view/3238
Medication adherence is essential for controlling blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. However, the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey reported a non-adherence rate of 36.4%. One factor influencing non-adherence is the level of knowledge. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge level and adherence to antihypertensive medication at the Sumobito Community Health Center. A correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach was used, involving 60 participants selected through total sampling. Data were collected using the Hypertension Knowledge-Level Scale and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8, both validated for reliability and validity. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test in SPSS. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge level and medication adherence (p = 0.010; p < 0.05). However, the correlation coefficient (-0.328) indicated a moderate negative relationship, suggesting that higher knowledge does not necessarily improve adherence. This may be influenced by factors such as forgetfulness, boredom, and the misconception that medication can be discontinued once patients feel healthy. These findings suggest that health workers at the Sumobito Community Health Center should conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to improve adherence, including the use of pill boxes or pill cards.
Achmad Taufiq Heni Maryati Copyright (c) 2026 Achmad Taufiq, Heni Maryati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-05-29 2026-05-29 2 1 34 42 10.33023/jcnsp.v2i1.3238 The relationship between dietary patterns and nutritional status of preschoo-aged children at Dahlia Persatuan Guru Republik Indoensia Kindergarten Madyopuro Village Sumobito https://journal.stikespemkabjombang.ac.id/index.php/jcnsp/article/view/3284
Nutritional status in preschool children is an important indicator for assessing health quality and growth. Nutritional problems among children remain a public health challenge, one of which is influenced by unbalanced dietary patterns. This study aimed to determine the relationship between dietary patterns and the nutritional status of preschool children at TK Dahlia PGRI, Madyopuro Village, Sumobito. This study employed a quantitative correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 46 preschool children, and all participants were selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman’s Rank statistical test. The results showed that most respondents had good nutritional status (76.1%), and the majority had dietary patterns in the sufficient category (82.6%). The Spearman’s Rank test revealed a p-value of 0.007 (< 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between dietary patterns and nutritional status. The correlation coefficient was r = 0.393, indicating a weak correlation. There is a significant relationship between dietary patterns and the nutritional status of preschool children. Inadequate dietary patterns may negatively affect children's nutritional status. Therefore, nutritional education for parents needs to be improved to support optimal growth and development of children.
Leny Nur Azizah Mamik Ratnawati Copyright (c) 2026 Leny Nur Azizah, Mamik Ratnawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-05-29 2026-05-29 2 1 43 50 10.33023/jcnsp.v2i1.3284 Telehealth readiness in nursing practice: a walker and avant concept analysis https://journal.stikespemkabjombang.ac.id/index.php/jcnsp/article/view/3215
Abstract

The rapid integration of telehealth into healthcare systems has transformed the delivery of nursing care, necessitating a clear understanding of the concept of telehealth readiness among nurses. Despite its growing significance, telehealth readiness lacks a uniform conceptual definition, creating ambiguity in research, education, and practice. This article aims to analyze and clarify the concept of telehealth readiness in nursing practice using Walker and Avant's concept analysis method. Walker and Avant's eight-step framework was employed to analyze telehealth readiness. A systematic literature review was conducted using databases including PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2015 to 2024. Three defining attributes were identified: (1) technological competency and digital literacy; (2) attitudinal readiness and professional confidence; and (3) organizational and infrastructural support. Antecedents include prior technology exposure, institutional training programs, and leadership support. Consequences encompass improved care quality, enhanced patient satisfaction, and increased professional efficacy. A refined conceptual definition of telehealth readiness in nursing is proposed. Implications for nursing education, clinical practice, and health policy are discussed.
Aini Inayati Sriyati Sriyati Copyright (c) 2026 Aini Inayati, Sriyati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-05-29 2026-05-29 2 1 1 15 10.33023/jcnsp.v1i1.3215
