Publication Ethic

The Journal of Occupational Safety and Health (J-OSH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by another journal. All authors should have made substantial contributions to the study and approve the final manuscript before submission.

Authors are responsible for:

  • Reporting research accurately and objectively.
  • Presenting original work free from fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.
  • Properly acknowledging the work of others through appropriate citation.
  • Disclosing all sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Obtaining ethical approval from an appropriate ethics committee when human participants or animals are involved.
  • Obtaining informed consent from research participants where applicable.
  • Correcting significant errors promptly if discovered after publication.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based solely on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, relevance, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field.

Editors will:

  • Conduct fair, unbiased, and confidential editorial evaluations.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure ethical concerns are investigated appropriately.
  • Take corrective actions, including corrections or retractions when necessary.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play an essential role in maintaining publication quality.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Identify relevant published work not cited by authors.
  • Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical misconduct.
  • Decline reviews when conflicts of interest exist.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and receive approval from an institutional ethics committee or review board.

Studies involving animals must comply with institutional, national, and international ethical guidelines for animal welfare.

Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation, or other forms of scientific misconduct will be rejected immediately.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the publication process.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

J-OSH is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. When necessary, the journal will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever possible to promote transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity while respecting participant confidentiality and legal requirements.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors who use artificial intelligence tools for language editing, data processing, or manuscript preparation must disclose their use in the manuscript. AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the integrity, originality, or accountability of scholarly work. Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to J-OSH.
