Self-management merupakan pendekatan kognitif yang bertujuan membantu individu mengendalikan kebiasaan sehari-hari sehingga mampu meningkatkan perilaku positif, terutama dalam kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan self-management pada pasien congestive heart failure (CHF) dan infark miokard akut (IMA). Penelitian menggunakan desain analitik komparatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pasien yang terdiagnosis CHF dan IMA. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner Heart Health Self-Efficacy and Self-Management (HH-SESM), sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji independent t-test dengan tingkat signifikansi ? = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien CHF memiliki tingkat self-management kategori sedang, sedangkan sebagian besar pasien IMA berada pada kategori tinggi. Analisis juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan self-management yang bermakna antara pasien CHF dan pasien IMA, dengan pasien IMA memiliki self-management yang lebih baik dibandingkan pasien CHF. Kondisi kronis pada pasien CHF diduga menyebabkan keterbatasan dalam melakukan self-management, sedangkan kondisi akut pada pasien IMA mendorong perubahan gaya hidup dan kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan self-management, terutama pada pasien CHF.
