Pendahuluan: Kecemasan adalah masalah psikologis yang ditemukan pada orang dewasa yang lebih tua dimana mencapai 40% dari orang dewasa yang lebih tua mengalami kecemasan , kecemasan dikaitkan dengan cacat fisik, penurunan status fungsional, penurunan kepuasan hidup, kualitas hidup yang lebih rendah, peningkatan kesepian, dan peningkatan mortalitas.
Tujuan: Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kecemasan pasien
Metode: Studi ini merupakan jenis literature review. Dalam pencarian artikel, kami menggunakan database elektronik. Artikel yang kami review adalah artikel publikasi sepuluh tahun terakhir.
Hasil: Dari hasil review terlihat bahwa keseluruhan hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa latihan relaksasi otot progresif dalam menurunkan kecemasan, efektivitas latihan relaksasi otot progresif dalam menurunkan kecemasan memiliki tingkat keberhasilan hingga 84 %.
Kesimpulan: Dalam pengaplikasian relaksasi otot progresif pada semua artikel penelitian terdapat penurunan tingkat kecemasan pada pasien dengan berbagai macam penyakit, selain penurunan kecemasan relaksasi otot progresif juga dapat berefek juga pada peningkatan koping pasien.
